Attendance = Achievement Attendance

October and November are attendance awareness months. There is a strong correlation between attendance and academic achievement. In order to encourage students to attain perfect attendance, in the coming weeks, students will be advised of incentives offered by each school and individual teachers for not missing a day in the coming months. Dr. Todd English has released a letter explaining the details of this attendance drive. You can read this letter by clicking on the link below.

BSD Rankings Remain Near the Top niche

Niche.com rated our district in the top 10% in the state.  We were 12th out of 143 districts rated.  The comprehensive ratings scored things like proficiency, diversity, extra-curricular opportunities, teacher quality, college readiness of our students, health and safety and other items.  All three schools were rated in the top 10-12% in their respective classifications.  The middle school was rated the 7th best middle school in the state.  The community can be proud of the job our teachers and administrators are doing in preparing our students for the 21st century.

"The Promise" was fulfilled with a 4th Consecutive State Championship trophy

The Booneville High School Marching Blue Devil Band is the 2016 MSHAA 3A State Marching Champion. All of the hard work put in from July's band camp until now has paid off once again. This year's senior class has enjoyed success like no group before. The band won 3 consecutive championships from 2009-2011, but fell just short in 2012. However, Booneville has been at the top since 2013. The top 5 bands in the finals are normally separated by a few tenths of a point. Booneville scored an 87.425, topping this year's second place band by about 8 points. No one involved is ready to rest on laurels, though. Talk has already begun as to next year and how continued improvement can be pursued. After all, the BBDB has a half century record of superior ratings and an extended band family that continues to be supportive and encouraging. Often being heard shouting "Go Big Blue", the fans know it's always "A Great Day to be a Blue Devil !"

BHS Symphonic Band Earns All-Superior Rating Concert Eval.

The BHS Band, under the direction of Josh and Jada Forsythe, earned all superior ratings at the State Concert Evaluation held at Tupelo High School on Tuesday, April 4th. This topped off an incredible year in which the band earned a superior rating in every caption of every evaluation for the entire year, qualifying them once again as a Sweepstakes Award winning band. A tradition of pride, determination, and success was established long ago, and this group of young men and women have stepped up and not only continued to achieve high levels of success, but have set a new bar for what is means to be a Blue Devil band member. This year's graduating senior class has won the 3A State Marching Championship and earned all superior ratings at State Concert Evaluation all four years of their high school career. Congratulations to everyone who plays a role in the success of this incredible band program.

Together we're better.
