March 18, 2020
Good evening Blue Devil family. I want to take this opportunity to give you an update on the status of providing services next week. Last night it was announced that our school district is closed March 23rd-27th due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are in the process of setting up a “Grab and Go” feeding service for anyone ages 0-18. The drive-through location will be at the bus rider line at Anderson Elementary between 9:00-11:00 on Monday and Wednesday of each week. Monday’s sack of food will be enough for breakfast and lunch for two days. Whereas Wednesday’s sack will have enough food for breakfast and lunch for three days. The student must be present to receive the food according to federal guidelines. The students will be served in their vehicles by a school employee. In order to comply with the guidelines of isolation, students and adults must stay in the vehicle.
We will begin our district-wide distance learning at home enrichment/remediation activities on Monday, March 30th if we are not in school. We are going to work over the next week to ensure our students get a quality educational experience during this extended school closure. If we are in school on March 30th, remediation will occur prior to any new information being presented.
This is a fluid situation that changes daily. I will update you as soon as new information becomes available. Thank you for working with us during this situation. Together we are better!
